OUR MISSION
Sun protection should be accessible to everyone.
SunGuard was founded after firsthand experiences in both community outreach and dermatology revealed how limited access to sun protection disproportionately impacts unhoused individuals throughout Pittsburgh.
Through direct outreach and community partnerships, we provide sunscreen, heat relief resources, and preventative skin health education to help make sun protection more accessible for unhoused communities.

WHAT WE DO
Direct Outreach
We distribute free sunscreen and sun protection resources directly to unhoused individuals throughout Pittsburgh, helping reduce the risk of sunburns, heat-related illness, and long-term skin damage caused by prolonged UV exposure.
Hydration Kits
Each kit includes sunscreen, sunscreen lip balm, aloe vera gel, cooling towels, hydration supplies, and sun safety materials.
In partnership with Street Medicine at Pitt.
Education
During outreach efforts, we distribute educational pamphlets on sunscreen use, UV protection, heat safety, and the ABCDE warning signs of skin cancer.

We collaborate with local organizations to expand access and build a stronger, healthier community

HOW TO SUPPORT
Product Donations
